I was using a Bullet 5M for site surveys with an omni antenna and saw the "network cable unplugged" message appear on my screen. Have never run into this before. As I know some people might have had this with the reset button being misaligned and getting pushed in by the plastic case, I looked at mine and the switch is well clear of the case.

Hey WHT,

Were you on version 5.0.2 RC5 or higher? We did fixe this in RC5.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

After digging through numerous posts I noticed a post about 5.05 RC5? Is this newer than 5.02, should we try this to resolve the reset to default problem?

We already tried 5.02 and the bug is still there. Is there 5.05 RC5 firmware available for the rockets?

Thanks,

- Dan

The funny thing is, I've been throwing that Bullet on my truck days for months, holding out the window, everything...and this was the first time it ever happened. Its an older release of firmware.

v5.0.5-RC5 was never released. It was v5.0.1-RC5, later v5.0.2-RC6 and final v5.0.2 firmware version. So v5.0.2 is the latest software version, which has all fixes from earlier releases.

How often your devices got reseted to defaults using v5.0.2? What voltage power adapter are you using? Can you double check the hole near reset button, to be sure, that it's not mechanical reset.

Thanks!

To prevent from accident reset to defaults you can disable reset button by editing configuration file and adding such line:

system.button.reset=disabled

I'll do that. though this has happened twice now on a unit that does not have the new POE.

What PoE you are currently using to power on your BulletM2 devices? If we will have such PoE, then maybe we will be able to reproduce this reset to defaults issue and much more faster find a solution.

Thanks!

i don't know if it has something to do with your case, but i ended up with a useless bullet m5 after connecing disconnecting a rj45 plug that had problem clipping in the connector. the bullet connector detached from the board and it seem very easy to replicate this stuff.

i believe it can be little more solid since the cable is not block at the tip on the transceiver.

should i try to ask for an rma for this? i rma once a ps5 about 6 month ago without any news yet...

Please try to add this line in configuration file: system.button.reset=disabled

1. Download configuration file from device
2. Open this file using any text editor and add this line
3. Save configuration file and upload to device
4. Apply changes and wait.
5. If still reset to defaults persist, inform us by sending e-mail to me and Mike.

Thanks!
