Hey guys. Just wondering if we can use mimo antenna in our standard B/G environment. I mean, I wanna replace my routerstation + 3xr2 + 3 17dbi sector hyperlink antenna, for the 3 rockeM2 + 3 19dbi mimo antenna. I know im not going to get the performance i should if i use only M products, but i mean, my actual B/G clients are going to get better connection? Better signal, less noise, better range?I know that the radio is going to do better cause now is gonna be 400mhz per sector, but im really worried about the antenna.Thank you!

MIMO is useless unless the clients use MIMO.
Use BulletM and actual antennas instead

No thats not what I mean. All I wanna know is, the Mimo antennas works in a B/G enviorment? Thats it. I know that if I put 3 bullets im gonna get some more processor performance. I really wanna know about the antennas, do they work with b/g clients?

MIMO antennas are regular antennas that can be used with any product if the frequency match.
They are a combo of 2 antennas, one Vertically polarized, and the other Horizontally polarized.
MIMO is not used or supported in B/G radios, only in N and wimax. Correct me if I am wrong.

That's a multi-answer questions....

A Linksys WRT54G two antenna router has a second receiver antenna and uses polling to determine which antenna has the best signal. It is not MIMO, rather closer to spatial (different position of same polarity) antennas).

I'll finish this explaination later...going to bed.

It will service the clients, but it will not improve anything as far as signal/noise/range ( except for the improvement resulting from the extra 2 dB of antenna gain ). A radio with a faster processor will perform better for high loads, so it would not be a bad step on your upgrade evolution path.

The Bullet is not a MIMO radio so you would not want to use it on a MIMO sector antenna, which you eluded to doing in your second post.

Yes thats my answare. Im not thinking about using bullet + Mimo antena, Im thinking about RockeM2 +Sector. I mean, its gonna worth cause its really cheap, hehe thank you!
