yesterday was the 3rd october and the new utility came out... guess what... it doesn't work!
it only installs the drivers for the SR71-C, SR71-E, SR71-X, SR71-2 & SR71-5, but indicates support for the SR71-USB.
the new utility works fine with my SRC card and also shows the SR71-USB within the "show adapters list" option, but when i select it does not allow me to connect to anything and still only shows one driver available in the device manager: the driver shown is the old Ubiquiti SR71-USB 802.11a/b/g/n wireless adapter
next step i took was to uninstall both cards and reinstall the utility, but the SR71-USB device would not update using the drivers from the new utility.
i then tried the PCMCIA card and it would not work either (this is due to me uninstalling the drivers and the new driver package only supporting the majority of the SR71 adapters)
so i then had to uninstall the sr71 utility, reinstall the mobility 7.7 driver/utility so i could use the SRC card again
i then updated the utility with the sr71 utility and also noticed that the tx power has been reduced from 25dBm to 20dBm at 2.4GHz and 20dBm to 14dBm at 5GHz when i use the SRC card.
so the issues here are that although the website says the new driver has support for the SR71-USB adapter it doesn't and that they have reduced tx power availability when the utility updates the 7.7 mobility driver/utility
i suppose i have to be thankful that when you update the utility that the SRC card still works, only one problem is that you can no longer use long lengths of cable, as you then have too much loss and your RSSI will suffer
support on this matter would be appreciated
