Hey guys, setup a NLOS 8 Mile link 2 nights ago. Went pretty smooth. Signal is around -58 to -63. CCQ suffers a bit from time to time, but I am going to try out smaller channel width's later on (there are some other 2.4 in the area that may be causing that).

Just thought I'd share.

Also working with and without AirMax, can't really tell if it's better with or without either CCQ is the same in both and so is signal and end-user experience.

3970 pings sent 78 lost (1%Loss).

Sounds pretty good. When you say NLOS are you saying Near line of sight or Non? I am going to test a Near LOS 2.5 mile link next week. Hoping for similar results. Are there lots of trees or houses or hills? Just curious. What antennas? 24db grids?

yea, more like near line of sight. 24dbi grids. AP end is in the metro city area on tallest building in town (175ft tall). client end is a small community about 7-8 miles away on a nice hill about 40-60ft above the rest of the community. lots of 2.4 on the AP end.

I changed both units over to 10mhz mode, and CCQ on both ends is bouncing between 98-100% so yay. still getting his 10mbit interwebz too!

Would enabling Channel Shifting help out in this situation? Maybe if the radios aren't constantly seeing the other 2.4Ghz stuff, negotiating would work better?

yea, thanks for jogging my memory. I also did enable channel shifting and set it to 10mhz and placed it in a proper channel as far away from overlapping ones as possible. link still looks good, but I am still unable to use the SNMP on the unit's. SNMP tool picks up the units and the interfaces, but graphs no traffic. with and without extra reporting
