What is not made in China anymore? China is the new Japan of the 70's and 80's.
What pisses me off is that "Intel just had their most profitable year ever in history" and they closed their US plants and built a 6 billion dollar plant in china and laid off thousands of US workers and moved to China.
AMD just built a 6 Billion dollar plant in up state New York and hired thousands of new US employees.
I am pushing my customers on AMD based computers.
I can understand Robert having his equipment built there as the US does not really have much in the line of OEM radio manufacturers. But Intel can suck my....

Intel aiming not only USA market maybe....
mostly of all they do what they need to do, you do what you think right to do, I also do what is important to me to do hehehe, btw IMHO they are a big company, they have many brilliant people working there. for sure they already thinking all the consequences of their action.
Intel is/was a US based company that built it's empire on US sales over the past 3+ decades. Granted they are expanding their market share outside the US but they were synonymous with US customers as a US built business who was VERY profitable being built here in the US. The fact that they have intelligent people working there does not off set the GREED in trying to squeeze every penny they can by being unethical.
I feel that if they can have their most profitable year ever being built here in the US and still move to cheaper labor tells me that this is GREED not necessity to remain competitive. F them!
AMD chose to remain here in the US so they will get mine and my customers business! We have already actively began pushing AMD based products.

I am so tired of our country giving tax credits to companies to move jobs off our shores.
China will go the route of Japan, their economy grew at a staggering rate in the 60's, 70's, and 80's until their citizens got smart and demanded a decent salary. Right now China has manufacturing based on ridiculously low labor.
I saw one electronics plant in China where they had their workers setup in a dorm room/military boot camp style compound with bunk beds and a large cafeteria where the workers stayed during the work week and they returned home on the weekends.
There are some core technology firms that I "thought" should have remained US based and Intel was one of them!
Up until lately I was pro Intel, they chose to move, AMD did not!

I recently evaluated AMD processors since I heard of Intels move and found AMD processors have come along way in the past few years. They no longer seem to have the thermal issues and you can get a 6 core processor that is a fraction of the cost of it's competing Intel processor. In fact you have seen a large shift lately in the computer industry towards AMD (all be it partly from the recent ruling that what Intel and Dell was doing was illegal).
I just strongly recommend that US based IT firms re-evaluate their core systems and consider AMD as an alternative. Not to mention they are much less expensive and built here in the USA!
Since Intel wants to be a China based manufacturing firm Chinese based companies should buy them. American based companies can buy AMD.
Lets see how profitable Intel will be selling their product at price points that the average Chinese citizen can afford if the US market shifts to AMD.

I am sorry mr. Sirhc,
I think your posting is out of topic......
*peace
Possibly, but I will take any opportunity to stand on a soap box and express my very strong dissatisfaction with Intel's recent slap in my countries face with there decision!
I am sure you would have an opinion too if Sinopec decided to move to Texas!

@Sirhc
I have always wondered how US manages to deal with unemployment over the years. I thought it was an US problem but the Chinese are also in third world countries constructing roads and housing at a fraction of what local contractors also western ones would charge. Its pure greed as you put for companies to want to make big cash at the expense of its locals not getting employed. Who will even use the products if they don't earn. A re-evalution is paramount. On another note, Am using and will always use AMD processors though my current laptop can heat water while I use it but am glad they improved on their CPUs.
