Some vendors list inconsistent power output for these cards, and the official spec sheet doesn't list a mW output at all. Is there any official information on how much power these cards put out?

hi,

thje one that says 500mw also has the spec as 24dBm below..

24dBm is 250mw

that is average...

peak power is higher and peak to mean is usually 3-6dB so some may quote the peak power... always look at the data sheet..

and of you dont understand dBm, type into google "24dbm in mw"

cheers

Very helpful, thanks. I didn't realize that it the two values were directly related to each other.

So, as a follow up question, I know that a variety of antennas are available, each with their own db rating. How does the math work for that? I'm assuming putting a 3db antenna on a 24dBm card wouldn't equate to 500mw of power?
