We installed some Bullet M2 in this week. We changed the previous B2HP unit to new M2HP. The problem is Ethernet NIC. When the Bullet M2 boot process finished the device step down the ethernet NIC negotiation rate to 10Mb.FullDuplex. We test it some different switch, cable (utp, ftp, sftp) ( normal or cross over from poe Lan side) , poe adapter and poe voltage (12V, 15V, 18V, 24V) and direct attached to some PC. So we try everything. After manual setting the negotiation rate in the switch setting 100.Mb FullDuplex the result much packet lost. The previous B2HP works perfectly in same conditions same place same ethernet cable. We try much different setting but the Ethernet Negotiation problem does not solved.
- We use this firmware: XM.v5.0.2-rc.2553.090829.0448.bin
- The Cable length 30m, cable type Siemens-Futurecom SFTP600 triple shielded, grounded.
- We use HyperLink Ethernet Protection with grounding.
- Near the two cable end point Ethernet Ferrit.
- Airmax feature disabled.
- 20 MHz Channel without any security options.
- Auto Ack
- The wireless signal is very good. When we ping from wireless side the result is perfect.
:)
We check the UBNT forum all the day. And waiting the new firmware to fix this problem.

Hello AtTilla,
Which ethernet switch are you using? Have you tried changing the ethernet switch? Have you tried temporarily removing Hyperlink ethernet protector to see if that is issue?
Can you try connecting the same bullet M2 unit directly to a laptop or PC and see if there is still a 10/100 connection issue?
Thanks,
Robert

Thank you the fast reply Robert.
Sure, we try remove HyperLink protector. The result same. The PC ethernet card detail in WinXP show 10.Mbit:). We try change cable, the result same.
We use NetGear FS728TP and Cisco Catalyst 3550, but we try normal desktop Linksys Switch the result same. The device booting up, the ethernet up and down and up and down and up and down and up the negotiation rate is changed 10.Mbit FullDuplex.
We try setting negotiation rate manually in the switch 100.Mbit Half Duplex the result works slow but correctly without packet lose, in 100.Mbit FullDuplex much packet lose.

Hello AtTilla,
do you have another one device to replace this one and see what happens? The same result?

OK ! We test it now. The Result :
- Short cable lenght (5m) the Bullet M2 connected directly to the PC perfect. 100.Mbit FullDuplex.
- The cable lenght more than (25m) the Bullet M2 connected directly to the PC only 10.Mbit FullDuplex.
We tested previous Bullet 2HP device.
- Short cable lenght (5m) the Bullet 2HP connected directly to the PC perfect. 100.Mbit FullDuplex.
- The cable lenght more than (25m) the Bullet 2HP connected directly to the PC perfect. 100.Mbit FullDuplex.
I think the problem Bullet M2HP use different type of ethernet NIC chip with lower specification :( , or some driver issue in the firmware.
I'm very hopeful this problem only driver issue in the firmware.

We tested another 2 Bullet M2 Device.
The Result Same :(
I did quick test on my desk, connecting BulletM2HP device to my Lenovo T400 (running ubuntu Linux) laptop's NIC and network speed was negotiated to 100Mbps full duplex. I use 70m length network cable (CAT5E UTP) and 12V, 1A power supply. 70m network cable is connected to PC and LAN port on PoE. From PoE to device is ~1m LAN cable.
Maybe I have missed something from your setup description?
I will do re-test it when I will get the latest hardware revision of BulletM2HP. I will update you later.

We first tested UBNT NanoStation2 poe adapter and 12V / 1A power supply, and some other poe adapter and power supply, but we following UBNT instruction MAX 24V.

IBM M52 with Windows XP Ethernet NIC: Intel PRO/1000
IBM R51 with Windows XP Ethernet NIC: Intel PRO/100 VE
HP-TX2640 with Windows 7 RC Ethernet NIC: Realtek 8168C
Apple MacBook Pro 13.3 with 10.6 Snow Leopard Ethernet NIC: Maybe Realtek 100/1000

Can you say what are date numbers near MAC address on BM2-HP sticker?

Hello,
What type of Etheret cable are you using? Is this a homeade cable? Is it Cat5e? Have you tried a Cat6 cable? Can you try with a differen PoE supply?
Thanks,
Mike

Dear Mike!
Thank you for your question.
We use Siemens-Futurecom CAT7 600 S-STP triple sielded cable, the cable data sheet :
http://www.siemens-consultsupport.com/de/pass_netzkomponenten/04_datenblaetter_kupfer/kabel/wcxwxw-x0087-c001-l6_030326_e.pdf
We probating some different type of cable, standard indoor patch UTP cable and outdoor FTP. The negotiation problem does not solved.
We make a small investigation and see some internal circuit picture in the internet, the Bullet 2HP and Bullet M2-HP contain same ethernet chip. This information is very interesting because the Bullet 2HP working correctly without any negotiation issue in this scenario (same cable, same place, same switch, all same).
So when the ethernet chip real same in the Bullet 2HP and Bullet M2HP device, we think this negotiation issue just a little firmware problem.
But i repeat it is not separated problem, i see some Bullet M thread in the UBNT forum with contain same ethernet negotiation issue.
