I am able to run the AirView app, but it is unable to see the AirView USB hardware.

MacBook Pro 17" Unibody 2009
Core2Duo 2.66Ghz, 4GB RAM
Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard

raptor:~ bstineman$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_15"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_15-b03-219)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.1-b02-90, mixed mode)

Am I doing something wrong?

No, as designed, there isn't much "wrong" that you can do other than not have JRE 6 installed, which looks like you do. Well, at least it looks like with this update Apple didn't completely break the JRE 6 APIs or execution hooks so the app at least starts, but of course, for whatever reason it can't find the device. As you've seen with other people's posts prior to Snow Leopard the app and device discovery works just fine (and it still does).

So I'm guessing that the issue must be with the low-level USB/serial drivers compiled under Darwin. No problem. I'll have to diagnose this issue with a Snow Leopard installed Mac and get down to the bottom of it. It may take me a few days to do this so please be patient.

Thanks for the report, and we're sorry for the inconvenience. Stay tuned.

Other things to note:

- Mac OS 10.6 detects the USB adapter as a network device, it shows up in Network Preferences (see attached screenshot)
- The app does indeed launch (see attached screenshot), with the aforementioned device warning.
- I was running the latest Airview downloaded today: v1.0.9_mac
- ran it a couple times with the "command" script - (log is attached)

Yes, saw that myself, but that didn't turn out to be the issue.

bstineman, thanks very much for your report and logs. I was able to get hold of a Snow Leopard DVD and upgrade one of our Macs to it and analyze the issue. I'm happy to report it turned out to be a very minor issue so the problem is fixed and a new version of the Mac TAR file (v1.0.10) is now posted on the AirView Downloads (http://ubnt.com/airview/downloads.php) page.

This version executes just fine on our Mac Unibody Core 2 Duo running 10.6 (Snow). Please give it a try and let me know if it works for you as well.

Again, thanks for the report and sorry for the temporary outage.

Cheers,

bstineman

I was thinking that i broke something :-) But it seems I had the same problem after upgrade. The 1.0.10 beta seems to have fixed the problem. Every thing seems good to go on this end.
