Hi! i am new to this forum and also new to Ubiquity and wireless products. We have been using ubiquity producst like Bullet and Nanostation all in 2.4 GHz. for last around 1 months. recently one of our customers whom we have given a PTP link wanted us to enable SNMP on the radios so that he could monitor his wireless network.
Can some one please help me with how to enable SNMP and what does it actually do to he network. Is it only for monitoring? and does it mean some additional load on the network?
Please reply and oblige.
thank you.
Hi,
You might want to check AirOS 3.x user guide at:

Good luck!

I have noticed that with extra reporting on using SNMP you can view the RSSI value of the link (from either side), the neg rate, the actually throughput and couple of other things. with no extra reporting i think all you get is data throughput. someone correct me if I am wrong.
**edit** about the extra load. I have noticed thier is a bit more load on the links, but nothing too bad. The problem with the extra reporting though is the CPU load on the client, especially if they are a busy client. Some of our customers have had to have this disabled in their unit and it made a world of difference.

You mean from the AP you can see the Clients RSSI w/extra reporting enabled on the station?

thanks Rasa!
how ever my problems are little resolved. please guide me further.
We are trying to develop a customised software for network monitoring. in this with the SNMP enabled, i am still not able to get the feeds from the UBNT radios. We have certain mikrotik raidos also on the network where in we are able get the feed and the application is working fine. but with UBNT radios we are not getting the required feed. is it some kind of settings we need to do in the radio or some specific type of discovery is needed to be anabled on the application?
please help if possible.
Thanks.

Ubiquity SNMP works fine, just enable it and set the community, and walk it it.
I usually use snmpwalk -v 1 -c communityname ipofradio oid
