Hi there, we have always used WDS mode with the standard Ubiquiti products with WEP or no encryption set, and this has worked great. With the new Bullet M's it seems as soon as you activate encryption the WDS settings get blanked out. Is this a fault? or is there an update coming to fix it.

Cheers, Dale.

Bullets M supports only open/WPA/WPA2 encryption with current FW releases. Can you send a screenshot with blank WDS settings? You can attach pic in this post. Thanks.

Hello,

If you set WPA/WPA2 while in AP/WDS mode the WDS settings get blanked out as this is not supported.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike, this has caused a lot of confusion as most of our customers were at least using WEP 128 ASCII on the previous models. It is better than no security. We have found that for straight bridges we often have to run WDS mode to get full transparency between the networks at each end. How are we to provide security now?

Cheers, Dale.

MAC auth using the MAC filter?

...or wait until WEP is supported there's no need to rush and put the new products up until you have tested them and proved they are right for the job.

Hello,

When operatin in Ap/WDS mode to STA/WDS mode WPA encryption is avaialble. Its only when AP/WDS to AP/WDS is used that you cannot use WPA.

thanks
