This is a quick success story using a new
Bullet M5 I've just put in service.
I have a Bullet5 point-to-point 12Km link
already in service. This is AP-WDS to
Station-WDS, and I have the link locked
down to 3Mbps on a 5Mb channel for the
best operational margins possible. It runs
about -65 to -75dbm, and is rock-solid.
My 5M was loaded with 5.02 RC firmware,
set in Station-WDS mode and mounted on a
'portable' 24dbi grid antenna. I simply pointed
it out a window at the AP about 14Km distant,
3deg off the beam center and 10m above
ground. I immediately got a -55dbm signal.
But the CCQ was around 3%, and the link would
barely function. I changed from AutoACK to a
'14Km' delay; CCQ went to 100% and all was
good, even with transmit power below 16dbi.
My conclusions: Bullet 5M is highly sensitive
(probably better than Bullet 5) and works
well back-to-back with the 5 (in 11a mode).
But Auto-ACK definitely does not work
(as several others have already reported).
Another glitch I found was when I select the
'Compliance Mode' to show the full frequency list,
the Channel Scan List will not display in my browser
[IE8]. It shows up when I select 'United States'.
