Great forum btw guys.
I am attempting to share a internet connection from a office about 1.63 miles away with good line of sight. Based on what I have read here I purchased 2 nanostation 2's. Using the ubnt wiki I set them up in a bridge configuration and verified it work with a local connection. My question comes in "aiming" or "aligning" these things. Is there a website that shows this? Do I just eyeball it? The other question..is there way to determine how many degrees of tilt to on these as there is about a 275' difference in elevation between the two nanostations.

Thanks so much for the help guys
Matt

The beamwidth is wide enough that an eye ball alignment is suffcient. You can use the Antenna Alignment tool to peak it out.

However it looks like you're going to need some downtilt and uptilt at both ends.

Hello New Guy,
First let me say that you made the right decicion by buying UBNT equipment... I have been doing wireless since 2002, I have tried all types of equipment out there and by far this are the best equipment out there and the way they are going they will be for ever. Now about your question, I have a small WISP in Nicaragua Central America and I switch all my equipment, both clients and base to UBNT. I use Nanos2 and by just eye balling I have links that are 7 miles away. What I do is make sure that the link is gives me all the lights and most important the CCQ is 100%. Also make sure your transmit rate is high. I set my to 36 both ways.

Last and most important, by joining this forum you have many kind, smart people that are always ready to help...

Welcome to the UBNT family and wish you success with your equipment..

Daniel
