Hey Guys,

Please post some results here (good or bad) with your configuration files and firmware number.

Also please note BEFORE posting results please make sure you are doing the following:

1. Testing multiple streams of data.

2. Testing multiple streams in BI-directional traffic (send traffic both ways at the same time)

3. Please make sure your signal is higher then -80

4. Please make sure your signal is lower then -45

Thanks,

Mike

Results as follows....

AirMax: Off
Auto ACK: Off
Wireless Modes: AP/WDS & STA/WDS
JPerf: 10 x Parellel Streams

Notes: Everytime I change a setting remotely the connection between the AP and Station does not reconnect I have to reboot the Station and also had very strange behavior with signal lights on both Bullets.

This indoors? What type of antennas? How many other AP's on channel 1 and 6?

Thanks,

Mike

Sorry should of included that info...

This indoors? - Yes between 2 floors, one up one down (will provide outdoor tests as soon as I get the Bullets working again)

What type of antennas? - 2 x 7dBi Panel Antennas

How many other AP's on channel 1 and 6? - No AP's detected on the station between channels 1 and 6, it only picked up 2 on channel 11.

Also noticed the site survey doesn't work when Bullet is in AP mode, is this normal behaviour? if so can it be fixed, its very useful to see any neighbouring AP's.

Yep we wil look into the site survey feature.

Also what firmware are you on?

Thanks,

Mike

Can we have some real world results posted with the latest firmware? I mean outdoor 2x2 MIMO PtMP with many clients, preferably in the presence of other wireless systems.

How fast it performs in the office is pretty meaningless for an outdoor wireless system.

Sorry I can't provide all the info you asked for Mike but getting a box with Jperf on each end of this link is a bit tough since it is kind of in the middle with a wireless link on each side of it. The links on each side of it push way more bandwidth than this one so it is definitely the bottleneck.

This screen shot was taken while moving a 333mb file through the total link (through 4 wireless links, 3mi PtP -> 41mi PtP -> 17mi PtP -> 400ft PtMP) using Windows Explorer.

--Hardware--
Radios: Bullet M5s
FW: 5.1.2
Antenna: 32db solid Pac Wireless Dishes w/Radomes
Distance: 41 Miles
--Edit--
Airmax: On
ACK Mode: Enabled (didn't seem to work when I turned it off)
Station Airmax Priority: High

p.s. Let me know if I forgot any pertinent info.

Here are some tests I did with RocketM2s, -60 dBm RX signal

hi all,

this is the result for 34km ptp link..

each side :
rocket M5
29.5db, 4900-5800 grid antenna at chain0
3Com rubber duck antenna at chain1
40cm store made ( non industrial) rp-sma to n jumper
50m at AP side and 23m at client side.
34.5km distance.
few ap detected from client side, 3-6 aps.

bandwidth test result, using tools from mikrotik RB450G at client side and RB750 at AP side, below 5% CPU usage each.

status: running
duration: 24m23s
tx-current: 10.2Mbps
tx-10-second-average: 9.6Mbps
tx-total-average: 9.4Mbps
random-data: yes
direction: transmit
tx-size: 1500

and this are the settings :
Bit Rate:19.5 Mb/s Tx-Power=27 dBm Sensitivity=1/3
Retry:off RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:off
Power Management:off
Link Quality=15/94 Signal level=-81 dBm Noise level=-96 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

note, i got better signal at midnight, boost up to 30Mb/s bit rate.

i want to be able to remote the device (rocket M5) via telnet/ssh.
any idea about the command line should i use?
i have a backup link using adsl or cable. so text remote access is preferable.
any link about text remote for ubnt?
any suggestion to make the link better?

regards,

scwade

Here is my real world scenario (along with the ubnt calculator) very different results. Maybe I have something setup wrong? I aimed and tuned the nanobridge both hor/ver for the best dbi readout on the "main" tab as possible (not that great) - could not get below -80. Both antenna's are on single story roof tops (~20 feet). I just have the one remote site at present.
