We are installing today a 19 Miles Link with 2 Bullet M 5 HP and two 29dbi GRID Wideband.

I will let you know the performance of the link with all the test performed.

Mike,

Our installers align in the firts tower and we get -75 in the AP Site and -76 in the Station WDS site.

I need to align in the AP Site these week to try to get better signals. Our link it's passing for all the metropolitan area. So we have a lot of interference out there.

The actual signals look good but can be better so I will fix that first.

The CCQ i'ts around 10%. So I will let you know.

We show:

XM.v5.0

Well,

We align the 19 Mile link and we get

-62/61 on the Signal at the Link the CCQ sucks! 3% up to 11% I try a lot of different channels.

At the Station WDS Site - Auto Ack it's not working properly

I suppose i'll ask the obvious...

Have you tried NOT using auto ack, and setting distance to 19+ miles?

Have you tried different channels?

Like you say obvious.

I try auto ack off in the Station WDS does't allow more than 17 miles in the AP WDS I don't have issue with that.

I try all the channels in South Africa Domain =))

Hello,

Please take the units out of auto 20/40 and set static 20Mhz and you will have access to longer the 17 mile ACK.

Also you can try 10 and 5 mhz to see how the link is performing.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi, the 20Mhz in the STA instead of 20/40 auto fix the firts issue. Now I don't know why the link it's more stable.

I am getting like 10Mbps I need now to start changing channels, I will let you know.

In n mode is it possible to configure to 40 MHz instead of auto 20/40 ?
It might be a protocol restriction as all 802.11n products I've seen such as residential APs don't have 40 MHz option, but it seems backhaul links would benefit from such config.

Hi, Mike

I turn off the Auto 20/40Mhz in the Station WDS and the CCQ goes UP.

I have the link in 20Mhz without Airmax and I get 18MbpsRX and 16Mbpx TX

Signal at the AP WDS

If I turn on airmax i get like 13Mbps RX and 12Mbpx TX like 4-6Mbps less.

Hey Guys,

In a halfway clean enviroment, turning on AirMax will degrade the performance of a Point to Point link just a bit. It will help in very nosiy enviroments.

The throughput numbers...are they what you expected? Or low?

Man,

I don't think that I can get any better with any out there solutions on the market.

I have a friend with a short link using some Orthogonz Gemini and get the same bandwidth that me. My link it's more longer and the cost of his units are around 6k the pair and my link cost 300.00 with the GRIDS jajaja...

I will still working with the links to know that more I can get.

Also in UDP I get like 30Mbps...

I will provide updates near future. =)

Hey Osnet,

Can you test with bi-directional traffic? Have BTEST run it in both directions at the same time, with say 2-4 streams if possible.

THanks,

MIke
