Have the Bullet 5M been tested and FCC approved for the 5500 to 5680 gig freq? I see the freq available for the AP and a check box for DFS.

Hello Tim
Yes we are going through the certification process for all of the devices. DFS is in and is fully functional according to FCC Specs.
Thanks,
Mike

Yes as they closly follow the FCC specs for DFS/TPC
Thanks,

This is great news; I look forward to seeing it certified for those frequencies. You can gain a big part of that market as nothing is inexpensive there.

Those DFS freqs in the USA have 1W eirp... just like 5250-5350.
The few 5.8ghz sectors I have setup really need high gain antennas at the CPE... my customers are 2-8 miles out from the towers, so free space loss is obviously more than at 2.4Ghz. With that 1W max eirp, AP and clients won't hear each other so well.
They'll be great for short distance backhaul, (as long as the channel change is swift when it detects radar), but I don't see them being too great for PTMP sector setups.

What about DFS, WPA2 and WDS, pick only one of the 3 ? Read it somewhere, but couldn't verify this claim.

I'd use them for short backhauls if those frequencies were available.
It would also be useful for short range urban ptmp stuff with the low range and power, where there is too much interference in the other frequencies.
