Thanks,

That doesn't make any sense at all.
MT is the business of selling ROS licenses at $45 MSRP a pop for a level 4.
We are more than happy to buy the NS5's as is from UBNT and pay MT the additional $ to have ROS on them.

After talking with MikroTik, they say that the NS5 does not have enough flash memory (only has 4M) to run ROS.
The mipsel system.npk alone is 6.37MB
This is compared to their "rc133c" board that has 64m flash memory.
The don't have drivers written for the Atheros AR2313 either.

Hello Mdown,
We have offered many times to change the hardware on our boards to support RouterOS, but MikroTik flat out refuses to do this.
Thank you,
Mike

I am afraid Mikrotik are not too forward thinking and more than a bit short sighted..
They do appear scared they will lose RB sales to UBNT and hence have cut off communication or the ability to put Router OS onto UBNT kit.
One day they "may" realise, when of course it is too late, that what they are doing is ultimately cutting themselves off of a potentially beneficial relationship with UBNT.
Originally UBNT products like the NS/PS were complimentary products to MT's ROS and RB's, by committing corporate suicide and cutting off a relationship with UBNT they leave the flood gates open for UBNT to make competitive products as well.
It is clear to me that a proprietary linux OS hack (an open source platform!) and a company that only makes "boards/licenses" and not "products" combined are not going to favour to well over time with one that encourages open software and makes some damn fine "products" as well as boards at competitive prices.
As a customer and certified consultant of MT i am personally disgusted at the way they treat customer input with contempt and refuse to communicate the truth when they screw up. they have STILL to give me a reason for the way they treated Kijoma recently for instance.
As long as Ubiquiti learn from their Latvian competitors errors/arrogance then i can see a bright future here :)

This is still not a possibility.
I do apologize.
Thanks,
