We left several messages at the number provided on the website. We always got voice mail and never any returned calls. :(

We have some pre-sales questions that we needed answered and were never able to do so.

Are answers to questions strictly through this forum?

Couple of questions we had.

Is the AP1000 scheduled to be released any time soon?

I have a customer that needs to get an internet connection between two buildings that are approx. 175ft apart. Line of site is fine, though there are a few trees in the way but I may be able to over come that.

At the remote building their systems are in a basement without cabling. I planned to set these systems up wireless that would connect to a router above ground that would be connected to a nanostation (2? or 5?)) On the primary building there would be another wireless router connected to another nanostation (2? or 5?). The PCs at this site would connect to there internet connection via the wireless router that the nanostation is plugged in to.

For this distance would we even need a nanostation at the remote site?

The routers we planned on using are either off the shelf netgearWGR 614s or perhaps a netgear prosafe product.

So basically you want to connect two building that are 175 feet apart, with perhaps some trees in the way.The Loco 2 should handle that, but try for a clear LOS.

As for an AP in the basement below ground, you'll just have to try that out. I've seen some houses that can't go two rooms.

How many locostations would be required? 1 or 2? Which model 2 or 5? Also what about the AP1000? I thought maybe that would work in this situation.

With regards to the remote site. The AP will be connected to the locostation above ground. The computers would connect to the above ground router. It's directly above (well almost) Maybe 10ft away.

Get a Linksys wireless router and see how much underground coverage you get. That will give you an idea how many Picostation 2 radios you'll need.

I used one netgear n router at the fringe of the host building (the likely location of locostation #1 (or the only one?) The signal was a weak 1 bar right above the below ground office area when connected via my netbook. Signal bounced up at times to two bars.

Looks like you'll need AT LEAST two APs underground.

Hmm...I don't think you quite understand what I am saying...I will develop a drawing to explain.

Right....all you have to do is wire in at least two other APs in the basement.

Why would I need any in teh basement? Can't those computers just connect wireless to the router (wireless type) that is connected to the nanostation above it?

Have you tried to see if all your computers downstairs can connect to a generic router upstairs? If they can't, then you'll need one or more APs downstairs in the basement.

They all can connect just fine to a router placed directly above them.
