All the Pico's we've been getting lately have the white sticker on the box labeled as the unit being 1000mw, when in reality the units are the standard 250mw. We have not found a supplier that claims they can get a Pico-HP earlier than mid-August. What's up with that?

I got so excited yesterday when I unpacked the box and saw the label - only to be crushed when I saw the 20dbm in the WebUI.

did your OS have the option of a tick box "Obey regulatory Power". Unticking this allowed me to boost it to 29dbm

Yep - have hundreds of NS2's, PS2's, Pico's, etc installed. I thought 29dbm was for the 800mw units - wouldn't the 1000mw be around 31dbm?

1000 milli watt(s) = 30 dBm
800 milli watt(s) = 29.0308998699 dBm

Mike gave us a number a few days ago, 27.9 dBm if I recall correctly. Now if you add the +/- tolerance, that would be pushing it to 29.997 dBm. Which would be very close to the 30 dBm advertised 1 Watt level.

Yeah WHT - that would be correct. I have to remember not to smoke so much crack before I post!

So the question remains - has anyone actually seen one of the 1000mw Pico's?

Why are the boxes labeled as such?

Why are the boxes labeled as such? Its called creative advertising - always round UP the numbers.
I have to remember not to smoke so much crack before I post! Reminds me of something I did over twenty years ago. Buddy dropped me off at home after playing pool all night and quaffing too many beers (and disemboweling peanuts). I started doing user account maintenance on my BBS.
