Hello, I'm a newbie who's trying to get some expert advise on which Ubiquiti product/model that I should use for my application. I intend to setup a 2km radius wifi mesh-network hotstpot zone that can provide around 2 Mbps Uplink/Downlink speed in a univertsity campus that is about 20km away from my Network Operation Center (NOC). The setup should look something like this :
NOC >> Lan Cable << 5.8Ghz Master Bridge Unit >> Wireless 20km distance << 5.8Ghz Slave Bridge Unit >> Lan Cable << 2.4Ghz Bridge >> Wireless << Cluster of 2.4Ghz mesh wifi nodes with each node carrying backhaul radio and AP signal covering up to 500m radius that will cover a total area of 2km radius.
Questions :
1. Which 5.8Ghz product/model should I use as the primary backhaul to connect the Master Bridge unit at the NOC and the Slave Bridge unit at the university campus that is 20km apart?
2. Which 2.4Ghz product/model should I use as the bridge to connect to the 5.8Ghz Slave Unit via LAN cable and the same time become the Master Node for secondary backhaul connection via wifi to the cluster of other mesh network nodes?
3. Which 2.4Ghz product should I use to carry both backhaul radio and AP signal at the same time, to form the 2km radius mesh network area that will serve wifi handsets that are within this range for VoIP application?
Looking forward to hear some suggestions..
