I am building a solar/battery setup for the Picostation and was wondering if there is a DC POE injector you recommend for the Pico Station. I didnt see any actual POE specs on the datasheets and dont want to use 110 volts and convert back
The power injector is a passive device. No different than an extension cord or power strip in an electrical circuit.
A redneck version can be built with two 8-pin modular jacks, wirenuts, and plastic box. All available from Homo Depot or Lowes.
Please post your plans once it is working, I'm very interested in having mesh nodes run on Solar! :-)
All I have is a dwg file on it. I'll convert it to a internal document PDF this weekend. Send me a PM to remind me to send the link to you.

Hello All,
I plan to embed a PoE Adapter other than the supplied into devices
(tap one of the internal DC-PSUs and feed to socket where the Pico-2 will
be connected to [passive, dumb PoE])
Question: What is the maximum DC supply feed into the PS-2 (The datasheet
mentioned 12V, but the delivered PoE(switching PSU) provides 15V and I think
I have seen a 24V PoE offered with one of your distributors)
Is 24V DC still save?
May 24V DC be an issue if other devices than the PS-2 are connected to the
socket? May this blow network adapters in laptops and PCs?
I think as the TP Ethernet has transformers it might be still safe, but there might be some overvoltage protection circuits around...
Best Regards,
