I have found my Airview2 EXT a useful tool..
However I HATE mmcx connections.. They are harder than heck to take off and break easily.

I got the little pc board naked and decided I could give it a go at modding it
(picture to come soon)

I have already ordered http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/359771-connector-rpsma-card-edge-mount-conrevsma003-031.html

and I'm willing to put my little board on the line to see if I can make it fit.

..Reason I'm willing to put its life on the line is I believe the center half of its pin has already broke from a connector rotating.

More to come.

Yeah..MMCX suxz. What I do is make a pull tab, similar to what you see with ribbon connectors. It attaches to the shell of the connector that can take the strain.

Plus I come off the MMCX to a Type N connector for a LMR-400 cable extension

Thats what I do too.. I have MMCX to RP-SMA, RP-TNC and N female adapter cables. However I have a 12 foot USB cable to get the Airview away from the Laptop

I really wish UBNT had come out with the Airview with a larger connector.
Very little of our wireless equipment uses MMCX connectors. The only thing I have that uses an MMCX is an AP with an integrated antenna that connects internally to its PC board.

Mod completed!
Its a butcher of a solder job but it works!
The software sees my AP at about -55db

My phone takes horrid close up pictures..

Hello,

It is a standard polarity MMCX Jack.

Thanks,
