How does everyone go about doing a site survey? Do you take care of it yourself or do you hire a consultant to do it? If you do it yourself what hardware and software do you use? Does anyone have any other additional test gear that they use for any other purposes?

Spend about a thousand dollars or more for one of the http://www.bvsystems.com products. Almost anyone can use it. Everything is included.
Spend $200 for a UBNT AirView and quality WiFi card. Several years of experience not included.
That's why consultants earn $300 plus an hour, four hour minimum.
